been thinking about this quote from one of CJ the X's essays recently as ive been trying to limit my social media usage:
"We realize the horrific entitlement a phone number “gives” you to someone else’s time. Why should I know the exact minute someone reads my texts? Why should I feel ignored if I call them and they don’t answer? Do I really have the right to alter your conscious experience 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 1/4 days of the year?"
like, yeah, it is scary how ingrained that entitlement becomes after being constantly online for so long. i know ive had it wormed in my brain for a while, letting it affect my habits and behaviors, letting it affect my self-esteem, letting it alter my concious experience. its one of many things i hope to get rid of while im cutting back on my internet usage.
Slay the Princess is such a good video game like wowwwww i really underestimated how much better it could get
Contrapoint's video on cancelling is still my go-to playbook to point someone towards if they actually want to understand cancelling, also a very good persuasive essay for getting off of social media.
